Greg McDermott's son is Doug McDermott, a professional basketball player who currently plays for the Indiana Pacers in the NBA. He was born on January 3, 1992, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and grew up in Iowa. Doug played college basketball at Creighton University, where he became one of the most decorated players in school history. He was a three-time All-American, the two-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, and led the nation in scoring during his senior year. After college, Doug was drafted 11th overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 2014 NBA Draft and has played for several teams throughout his career.
